This picture is from a few weekends ago, the one with the big storm, where Sparky and I were stuck in Maine. I had gotten her hazelnut die while on a business trip, and we taped them up to play Yahtzee. I love Yahtzee.
Anyway, I asked Recovering Straight Girl to interview me through an open invitation on her blog. I like her blog because I don't always agree with what she writes, but she always makes me think. That's a good thing!
So, here are my responses to her five questions. Wanna play along? See below for the 'rules'.
1. If you could trade places with any person living today, who would it be and why?
It would be my mom, first. My mom is one of my best friends, and we 'struggle' with a lot of the same things we wish we could change about ourselves. I'd like to switch places to see what it's like in her head, just so that I could help her in a better way than I can now. Now, if that's too weird, I'd love to trade places with Kate Winslet. Someone famous enough to be recognized - I wonder what that would feel like, and I know that I'd want it to be a temporary thing.
2. If you could solve one of the world's major problems, which one would it be?
Ignorance. It is the root of all our problems and evil, I believe. We need to be able to understand others and to imagine what it's like to be in someone else's shoes in order to solve problems in a constructive way.
3. What one number would you put all of your money on, if you had to, playing roulette?
Eighteen. And then, in order: nineteen, three, twenty-eight and the third twelve. This is how I won $240 on my cruise.
4. What is the first thing you notice about someone that you find attractive?
Their smile and their hands. And then if they make eye contact when listening. I'm not always the best at that, and it makes me a little uncomfortable, but in a good way.
5. What is one thing that no one really knows about you?
That I am sometimes resentful that I was not encouraged to play sports when I was young, and that I was not told that acting or performing could have been a viable living. It makes me sad sometimes that my current work just isn't that...creative or expressive.
So, you wanna play along?
- Leave me a comment saying, “Interview me, please.”
- I will respond by emailing you five questions of my choosing.
- You must update your blog with the answers to the questions. Whether you like them or not.
- You have to include this explanation, and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
- When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
So, there you go. Cheers.

I am amazed and your interview responses, and pleased with the lead to RSG. Glad you like yahtzee since the hazelnut is gone!
I'll play the meme game if you'd like.
Interview me! :)
me too!
Nothing makes a storm cozier than hazelnut Yahtzee. Loved the interview and totally agree with you re: ignorance being the root of so much evil. Also about the Kate Winslet thing. Mmm. Winslet.
Loved this! Should I bite? OK, I'll bite. But only for you!
